I like the bit where a complicated thing becomes useful.

I'm Apoorv, a product and research professional working across technology, fintech and green finance. I like understanding how things work, finding the problem underneath the problem, and helping turn ideas into tools people can actually use.

Currently thinking about

Products, incentives, technology, and why some ideas make it into the world while others stay in a spreadsheet.

Problems worth
building for.

My work sits somewhere between research and making: understanding a complex issue, figuring out what people need, and helping shape a digital product or insight that makes the problem easier to navigate.

Open Access
Landed Cost Calculator

Turning an existing calculation model into a usable digital product.

I designed and developed a web application that makes a complex open-access electricity cost model easier to use. The underlying Excel calculation was developed by a colleague; my focus was translating it into a clear digital experience.

I later helped explore the tool's commercial potential.

Making sense of
electric mobility.

Bringing India's EV registration data into one accessible view.

The Electric Mobility Dashboard tracks registrations across seven electric vehicle categories, with views at national, state and RTO levels. It makes a complicated and changing market easier to explore for people following EV adoption and the policy landscape around it.

My work at CEEW has included digital tools and research related to electric mobility. The dashboard is part of that broader effort to make data more useful for understanding the transition.

Exploring rooftop solar potential

Exploratory work on how building information, machine-learning approaches and solar-resource data could help estimate rooftop solar potential. This included exploring OpenStreetMap building data, Deep Umbra and Google Solar API collaboration.

Exploring where fintech meets sustainability

Research and concept development around emerging technologies and financial products, including blockchain, tokenisation and smart contracts, and their potential relevance to sustainability and financial inclusion.

Exploratory work is presented as research, not as a launched product.

What connects these projects?

Taking complexity seriously, then making it easier for someone else to understand, decide or act.

Not quite a
typical engineer.

Curiosity tends to take me into different rooms.
Computer science by training.
Product thinking by curiosity.

I studied computer science, but I found myself more interested in the questions around technology than in coding alone.

What problem are we trying to solve? Who is it for? How should it work? And what would make it genuinely useful? Those questions led me towards research, digital products and green finance.

I've worked at the Council on Energy, Environment and Water since 2021, across electric mobility, renewable energy, fintech and the energy transition. The experience has brought together research, data, digital tools and people trying to solve complex problems.

Over time, I've become increasingly interested in product management and strategy: connecting user needs, technology, markets and business decisions to turn an idea into something useful.

I'm also interested in the business side of things. How companies find opportunities, how markets evolve, how capital moves, and why some ideas work while others don't. Fintech and sustainability bring many of these questions together.

Outside work, I'm a reader, a writer and a Formula 1 fan. I enjoy running, good coffee and books that make me reconsider something I thought I understood. Philosophy, psychology and systems thinking keep finding their way into my notes.

I don't have a perfectly mapped-out answer to where all these interests will lead. Part of the fun is figuring that out as I go.

Ideas I'm
thinking through.

Systems and Synergy is where I explore the connections between business, technology, systems and human behaviour. I write to understand ideas more deeply, not to pretend every question has a neat answer.

Not every thought needs to become a lesson. Sometimes it's enough to follow a question and see where it leads.

Strategy is part of the sport.

Digital products are one part of the work. Research, explainers and public writing help make complex market and policy questions more accessible too.

Have an interesting
problem?

I'm always happy to hear from people working on interesting problems, exploring similar ideas or taking a different approach to something I care about. If something here sparked a thought, feel free to get in touch.
